Practical Information

Travelling to Lyon

  • By air: the closest airport is Lyon Saint-Exupéry (LYS). Geneva may also be an option.
  • By train: Lyon can be reached by fast train (TGV) from Paris (2h) and Marseille (1.5h) and by local train from surrounding cities (including Geneva, 2h). Train stations are Lyon Part-Dieu and Lyon Perrache. Tickets may be booked online here.

Please consider travelling by train if possible: you can compare the carbon footprint here (train emits roughly 20 times less CO2).

Getting there

From Lyon-Saint-Exupéry Airport:

  • Take Rhônexpress train from the airport to Part-Dieu railway station.

From Part-Dieu railway station:

  • Take “Vivier Merle” outdoor
  • Take the underground - line B - towards “Oullin”
  • Exit at “Debourg” stop.

From Perrache railway station:

  • Take tram T1 towards “Debourg”
  • Exit at “Debourg” stop.

Visiting Lyon
